A New Boom?

I was talking to my friend Roo, this morning, as we walked on the beach with our wives… and it was an absolutely beautiful morning.

He said that the QE2 (that is the Quantitative Easing policy announced by Ben Bernanke during the last week, not the ship…) was set to release so much money into the global financial markets that it was inevitable that we are going to have another boom before the inevitable next bust.

He has been a pretty successful trader in the markets over the last 10 to 15 years, having made three fortunes and fortunately only lost two!

So, while it may be obvious to many of us that the US economy is up the creek, there are now all the ingredients in place for another shot at the casino before the roulette wheel implodes!

How will that play out within a faster and more networked society than every before, more interested in whether companies are sustainable, and more interested in whether countries treat their workers fairly… ?

Or will the prospect of self interest and greed be such strong motivating forces that people suspend their belief in doing the right thing for just long enough to try to make a small fortune?

I think I see the likely answer…
